Dear Sylvia, my question about ball bursting tests. Firstly I want to ask which unit is more usefull (N or N/m2) to determine of fabrics ball burst strength especially fabrics have ultimate elongation. Could you give me an approximate maximum ball burst v

Answer
I am not sure which would be the most useful unit to use. What is more important is the Ball size and the internal diameter of the clamping ring. You can\'t compare result if the ring and ball size used are different. The maximum bursting strength that can be measured will depend on the Load cell fitted to your machine and the efficiency of the clamping ring. There several standards for Ball Burst availble depending on type of fabric being tested and its final end use.
