The textile industry represents 27% of total industrial production in Egypt and Intertek has been a part of quality assurance modes in the country for the past few years. Now, to keep up with emerging and increasing demands for stringent quality assurance for textile goods, the global leader in quality testing, INTERTEK, has opened a new laboratory in Cairo; with this new lab, Intertek’s services and network in the region is further extended to better serve their customers.

 The lab is having state-of-the-art facilities with equipment from leading manufacturers like SDL ATLAS for performing testing in accordance with major international standards from AATCC, ASTM, ISO, BS, DIN etc., by qualified and skilled professionals to assure world class service.

The newly opened laboratory is capable of performing various kinds of physical tests like Dimensional Stability to Washing, Spirality etc. and Colour Fastness tests like Washing Rubbing, Light , Bleach, Perspiration etc., and analytical tests like formaldehyde, pH, Fiber Analysis and Regulatory tests like Flammability, Care Label recommendations etc. 

The new laboratory is working on obtaining international accreditations like UKAS, GAP, LEVI’S and major overseas customers’ accreditation to prove its ability to serve its valued customers.
